Experience
Dr Kais Kasem is a consultant surgical pathologist who trained in Queensland hospitals and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2016. He is also an Associate Professor in clinical pathology at the University of Melbourne and leads the pathology discipline teaching for the Doctor of Medicine program.
Kais holds a PhD degree in molecular pathology of cancer and has discovered the role of a new tumour suppressor gene in colorectal cancer.

Kais is currently the convenor of the Digital Pathology meeting’s at the International Academy of Pathology in Australia and serves on multiple boards at the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
In his free time, Kais enjoys traveling, hiking, sport, music and art.
